APCCTaylor Nguyen understands the complexities of life, especially for those navigating between cultures, expectations, and ambition. As someone who has lived this experience, whether as an immigrant or a first-generation professional, she is familiar with the constant balancing act of reconciling where one comes from with where one is headed.
Taylor’s journey into this work was shaped not by a perfect childhood or a grand plan, but by a deep conviction that healing and growth are possible, even for those who come from environments where emotions were ignored, survival was prioritized, and vulnerability was considered a luxury. She is passionate about helping people understand themselves not just intellectually, but emotionally and existentially. Her work is rooted in compassion, structure, and the quiet belief that no matter how off-track someone feels, they can always find their way back.

Learn MorexTaylor Nguyen
Community Mental Health Worker, Housing Navigator, Internship CoordinatorAlyssa Huerta is currently a student at California State University, Fullerton, pursuing a degree in Psychology. Since 2021, she has had the privilege of working with the Moving Forward Psychological Institute, Inc. (MFPI), an experience that has deeply shaped her professional goals and passion for mental health advocacy. Her core values—hard work, community, authenticity, gratitude, continuous learning, growth, and compassion—guide both her personal and professional life.
Alyssa’s journey into the mental health field was inspired by her family, particularly her mother, who emphasized the importance of mental well-being and self-love. Her mother’s unwavering support taught her the importance of self-care in order to care for others. Alyssa’s academic studies and her realization that many individuals in her community lack access to proper mental health support have driven her to pursue a career where she can make a meaningful impact. As a psychology student, Alyssa is focused on clinical work, particularly in becoming an LCSW or LMFT. She is inspired by the transformative work these professionals do and hopes to support others in similar roles.
Outside of her professional life, Alyssa enjoys spending time with friends and family, hiking, and running her own soap and candle-making business. For self-care, she enjoys journaling, coloring, and listening to music, which help her stay balanced and manage stress.
